Parent Support Program

Candlelighters is a parent-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that organizes a complete support network for children and their families. We educate, support, serve and advocate for families of children with cancer and other blood disorders, bereaved families, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals that care for us.

Individual and Group Support for Parents

Support for parents is crucial as they live the journey of caring for an ill child and his/her siblings, or when dealing with the loss of a child. We provide this through a variety of venues, including Parent Circles at our annual camps, Parenting Support Groups and one -on-one support. In addition, “veteran” Candlelighters families volunteer to mentor and/or support those newer parents in need of both a listening ear and guidance from peers experiencing similar circumstances.
